Description

The Medvedgrad Brewery was opened on December 22nd, 1994 on the corner of Savska and Vukovarska as the first mini-brewery and brewery in Zagreb. The Medvedgrad brewery has been owned by the same family from Zagreb from the beginning and has maintained a long-term collaboration with Pavel Bartušek, a technologist from the Czech Beer Institute, where today's chief technologist, "Master Brewer" Božidar Kostanjčar, was trained. The headquarters of the brewery is in Zagreb at the address Huzjanova ulica 36. Medvedgrad pubs are located in Ilica 49, Samoborska cesta 217, in Tkalčićeva ulica 36 there is the Mali Medo Pub and in Vukovarska 68 there is the Fakin Craft Bar. Besides Croatia Medvedgrad exports beer to 6 other countries. In 2014 and 2015, it was named the best brewery in Croatia according to Ratebeer. Today Pivovara Medvedgrad bears the title of the first independent Croatian brewery, the largest of its kind in Croatia, with a permanent offer of seven types of beer.
