Innis & Gunn is a beer brand based in Edinburgh, Scotland, which was founded in 2003 by master brewer Dougal Gunn Sharp. Innis & Gunn has been contractually brewed at Glasgow's Tennents Wellpark Brewery since 2014 and exported to over 35 countries. It is the No. 1 "craft" warehouse in Scotland, the No. 1 imported "craft" beer in Canada and the No. 3 in Sweden. In 2017, Innis & Gunn sold 2.5 million cases of beer in over 35 countries. The Innis & Gunn brewery in Perth is the home of the brand for innovation and barrel aging. The first Innis & Gunn Brewery Taproom opened in Edinburgh in summer 2015 and was awarded the UK Casual Dining Concept Award in 2016. With an emphasis on craft beer and food pairings, the beer kitchens have been expanded to Dundee and Glasgow's Ashton Lane, the largest unit open to date. Innis & Gunn beers have been awarded numerous prizes and are known for their quality at home and abroad. Recent wins include gold awards at the Monde Selection Scottish Brewery of 2017 at the New York International Beer Awards 2017 and gold at the Scottish Beer Awards 2018. It was the official sponsor of the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2018. To grow the company Innis & Gunn raised £ 2.4m in a crowdfund at the end of 2016, exceeding its £ 1m target in 72 hours. In 2017 Innis & Gunn signed a distribution agreement in China for its flagship ale 'The Original'. On November 15, 2018, Tennent's announced that the brewing contract would be terminated with effect from September 2020. The following day, Innis & Gunn replied that they intended to open their own brewery.
