Description

The first pub brewery and beer distillery on the Chiemsee was built in 1994 by the qualified master brewer (Weihenstephan) and innkeeper Oliver Lange. The Chiemseebräu is the smallest commercial pub brewery between Munich and Salzburg. After extensive planning and renovation work, our distillery was installed and put into operation in June 2012. Since then, the beer brandy produced in-house, as well as the Kymsee whiskey, first bottled in 2015, has been available both in the bar and in the bottle. Most of the furnishings in our dining room dates from 1929. Some of the decorations, including the tiles from our dining room stove, come from a traditional inn in the Mühldorf district where our butcher was raised. The decorative pieces also illustrate the more than 200-year tradition of the Springer family in taverns. With us, a lot is handcrafted, such as our beer, beer mustard, various jams, beer vinegar, to name just a few.
